NEW DELHI, MARCH 24: Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Maharashtra will close the application process for MHT CET 2018 on March 25. Candidates who wish to appear for the exam need to apply by this date else they will be forced to apply with a late fee of Rs 500 from March 25 to 31. The application form is available in online mode for all the eligible candidates. DTE Maharashtra will be conducting the entrance exam on May 10. The entrance exam will be held for 2 papers – Paper I for Mathematics (1.30 hours) and Paper II (1.30 hours) for Physics and Chemistry in offline mode.

To fill the application form for the entrance exam, candidates will have to register first by using their email address and password. Once the registration process is completed, candidates can log to their account by using their email Id, password and mobile number.

During the process of filling the application form candidates need to provide their personal details like name, father's name, date of birth, email Id and mobile number etc. Candidates also need to upload their photograph and signature in the prescribed format and dimension. Candidates belonging to open category will need to pay Rs 800 as the application fee while filling the form. However, reserved category candidates have been given a relaxation of Rs 200 in application fee so they are required to pay Rs 600 only. After successfully filling the application form, candidates will be able to download their admit card from April 24 to May 10.

What if candidates make mistakes while filling the form?

Candidates need not worry if they have made mistakes while filling the application form. The exam conducting authority is likely to open the correction facility tentatively in fourth week of March 2018. By using this facility, candidates who have made mistake in their application form can rectify the errors by making necessary changes. However, candidates need to be very careful while using this facility as it will be provided only once. Apart from this, not all the details can be edited using correction facility. Information such as name of candidate, date of birth, exam details, etc can be rectified.

In 2016, MHT CET was re-introduced as the state level engineering exam moving away from the earlier participation in 2014 & 2015 in the JEE system. As per the data, every year, over 3 lakh candidates appear for the state level engineering entrance test to get admission into B.Tech programmes across the participating institutes.
