MP NEET PG 2024 Seat Allotment: What's next?
These options allow candidates to either confirm their allotted seat or opt for a different seat in subsequent rounds of counseling. Here’s a breakdown of each option:
1. Freeze: By choosing the "Freeze" option, a candidate accepts the seat allotted to them in the current round of counseling and confirms their decision to join the college. Once a candidate chooses "Freeze," they will not be considered for any further rounds of counseling, even if better options become available.
2. Slide: If a candidate opts for the "Slide" option, they accept the current seat but wish to be considered for a better seat in the same college or institution in subsequent rounds of counseling. This means the candidate is satisfied with the institution but hopes to be upgraded to a better specialty or course (eg, from a lower rank specialty to a higher rank one).
3. Float: Choosing the "Float" option means the candidate accepts the seat allotted but is open to being considered for a seat in a different college in subsequent rounds of counseling. If a better seat (either in terms of college or specialty) becomes available in future rounds, the candidate will be allotted that seat, and the initial seat will be canceled.
| Option | Description | When to Choose |
|---|---|---|
| Freeze | Accept the seat, no further rounds considered. | Satisfied with both the college and course. |
| Slide | Accept the seat, but wish to be upgraded within the same college. | Satisfied with the college but want a better course. |
| Float | Accept the seat, but wish to be considered for a better college or course in the next rounds. | Want a better college or course in future rounds. |
