New Delhi: Among the multiple initiatives towards the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP), the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has launched several programmes including BTech, MTech and joint PG diploma programmes. The institute is also providing multiple entry and exit options, as it is one of the key provisions of NEP.
Students pursuing PhD can exit with MS (research), while students undergoing MTech or MBA can exit with PG diploma of IIT (DIIT). For students pursuing UG can exit with diploma or diploma in a particular engineering discipline.
Speaking of the various NEP initiatives taken by the Institute, Prof. Narayanan D. Kurur, Dean, Academics, said: “IIT Delhi is committed to implementing the NEP provisions. We have implemented several provisions, and several others are in the pipeline. We have signed up for the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC)”.
The institute will also allow the students to change discipline at the end of first year of UG, UG to PG conversion and transfer from one PG programme to another and upgradation.

BTech in materials engineering, energy sciences and engineering, computational and applied mechanics, bachelor in design, MSc in economics, cognitive science, MTech programmes in cybersecurity, electric mobility, ML and data science, biomolecular and bioprocess engineering, masters in public policy, joint PG diploma in NITIE, Mumbai, in visionary leadership for manufacturing and master of science by research (MSR) programmes in automotive research and tribology, energy science and engineering, material science and engineering, transportation research and injury prevention are some of the programmes introduced as part of NEP 2020.
