MWCD Internship Programme 2026: Application opens for women students, scholars, teachers from rural regions

The Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD) has invited applications for its Internship Programme for the August–September 2026 term. Eligible candidates can apply for the MWCD Internship Programme through the official portal at wcd.intern.nic.in.

The internship programme is open for women students, scholars, social activists and teachers between age group 21 and 40 from non-tier 1 cities and rural India.

As per the eligibility criteria, candidates must be enrolled in or associated with a university or academic institution. Those selected for any term are barred from applying in subsequent terms, according to the press release.

MWCD Internship Programme 2026: Pilot projects, analysis

Those who will be selected for the two-month MWCD Internship Programme 2026 will be placed within the ministry to observe and contribute to its policies and programmes.

Selected candidates may carry out pilot projects or micro-studies related to ongoing ministry activities, and conduct analyses, produce policy papers and briefs.

The internship programme is offered four times a year in May, June, August-September, November- December and February- March term.

Under the internship period, candidates will also interact with MWCD officials, allied line ministries and key stakeholders working on the welfare and empowerment of women and children.

They will also be part of discussions on information gaps on related issues across the country, the release read.
