National Award to Teachers 2024: The final shortlisted awardees will be felicitated on September 5.
NEW DELHI: The Ministry of Education has extended the National Award to Teachers 2024 nomination window till July 1. The National Award to Teachers 2024 nomination window is open on the official portal – nat.aicte-india.org. The award is open to all the faculty members from colleges, universities, higher education institutions, and polytechnics in the country. The final shortlisted awardees will be felicitated on September 5.
For the National Award to Teachers 2024 , nominations can be made through self-nomination, by a former or current Vice-Chancellor, Director, Principal, faculty member, or colleague from the same university, institute, college, or polytechnic where the nominee is employed. Additionally, members of Search-cum-Screening Committees can independently recognize and nominate outstanding faculty members. However, members of the Award Jury are not eligible to submit nominations.
A total of 35 awards (25 in Category-I and 10 in Category-II) is conferred every year. Each awardee will receive a medal, a certificate, and a cash prize of Rs 50,000.
National Award to Teachers 2024: Eligibility
The National Award to Teachers 2024 is available to faculty members working in colleges, universities, higher educational institutions, and polytechnics throughout India, provided they meet the following criteria:
Regular faculty: Nominees must hold a regular teaching position.
Teaching experience: They should have a minimum of five years of full-time teaching experience at the undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
Age limit: Nominees must not exceed 55 years of age as of the application deadline.
Ineligibility of certain positions: Vice-Chancellors, Directors, and Principals (whether regular or officiating) are ineligible to apply. However, individuals who have previously held these positions but are still below 55 years of age and actively employed are eligible.
National Award to Teachers 2024: Selection process
The NAT-2024 selection process will involve two stages:

An initial shortlisting by the Preliminary Search cum Screening Committee

A final selection of awardees by a Committee of ‘Jury’ from the shortlisted candidates
