For the past few months, Stalin has been protesting against the way the NEET exam is being conducted, claiming that the Bharatiya Janata Party has "politicised" the test. DMK Youth Secretary and Sports Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin also signed the NEET exemption signature campaign .

He urged other parties, including former Chief Minister Palaniswami's AIADMK to participate in this initiative taken by DMK for NEET ban.

The document will be sent to President Murmu by the party if it is successful in gathering the required number of signatures opposing the exam.

The DMK is against NEET citing it advantages urban students with access to coaching institutes, arguing that it is against socialjustice to others.

The DMK recently conducted a one-day hunger strike against the Centre, demanding exemption of NEET. The party claimed that the exam discriminates against students from rural and underprivileged backgrounds.
