NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has notified that the NEET re-exam will be conducted for 1,563 candidates, who got grace marks, on June 23 from 2 pm to 5 pm. The National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) results 2024 of these candidates will tentatively be declared on June 30, NTA informed. The Supreme Court cancelled the NEET 2024 result today for these students following a huge controversy over award of grace marks.

The testing agency has taken the decision to conduct a re-exam based on the recommendations of the ‘high-powered’ committee formed to look into the grievances raised by NEET candidates over grace marks given to some students due to loss of time in the exam held on May 5. Various candidates filed petitions in the high courts and the top court challenging the additional marks and demanded a re-test citing irregularities and paper leak allegations.
“The High Powered committee after in-depth consideration of all relevant aspects submitted its recommendations/report which has been accepted by NTA. As per the recommendations of the High Powered Committee, NTA decided to reconduct the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) [NEET (UG)]-2024 on 23 June 2024 for 1563 candidates who had experienced time loss during the originally scheduled examination on 05 May 2024 and were awarded compensatory marks,” NTA said in an official statement.
NTA iterated that the re-exam will be held only for those who were awarded ‘compensatory marks’ during the initial revaluation. Those candidates who do not wish to re-appear for the NEET 2024 exam scheduled for June 23 will have to accept their actual scores, the ones before the addition of compensatory marks, it informed.
As per NTA, the NEET re-exam is valid for the following cases only:

NTA further informed that the NEET UG admit card 2024 for the concerned candidates will be issued subsequently. “The fresh score card after the examination in case the candidate appears for the re-examination will be hosted on the website after the examination,” it added.
