NEET UG 2025 'safe': All state governments on alert, NTA cautions against paper leak, misleading rumours

NEW DELHI: A day before the exam, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has cautioned students and parents against misleading information and rumours regarding the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG 2025). It has also informed that the mock drills at all centres were conducted successfully for smooth conduct of the exams. NEET UG 2025 Live.

The latest NTA warning against NEET UG 2025 rumours comes in light of the recent reports on alleged NEET paper leak and malpractices.

The testing agency has also informed that it has taken up the cases reported through its “Suspicious Claims Portal on NEET UG 2025 Examination” with the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (14C) under the Ministry of Home Affairs.

It has also taken action against more than 165 Telegram channels and over 32 Instagram accounts for publishing false information regarding the medical entrance test.

“Media Reports Alleging Pre-Planned Malpractice As regards the case reported in Media from Rajkot, Gujarat, where individuals allegedly offered inflated marks in exchange for money, appropriate action has already been taken by the Government of Gujarat. In the state of Odisha, action has already been taken by the Police against those trying to deceive aspirants by fraudulent means and false assurances. All State Governments are on an alert to nab any culprit who tries to indulge in unfair means,” the NTA said in an official notice.

In addition, the exam conducting authority (NTA) has urged the NEET UG 2025 aspirants to be vigilant against individuals or groups trying to spread rumours. Students are also advised to rely on the official communication from the NTA website at neet.nta.nic.

“Students should avoid engaging with unverified sources or middlemen claiming to influence the examination or admission process. Unscrupulous elements attempting to exploit students by falsely promising medical seats will fall under the ambit of the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act,” the NTA added.

The NEET UG 2025 exam will be conducted tomorrow, May 4 in a single shift from 2 pm to 5 pm across 5,453 centres pan India and 13 cities abroad. More than 22 lakh candidates have registered to appear for the medical entrance test for admission to MBBS, BDS and other medical undergraduate courses in government as well as private colleges in the country.
