NEET UG Counselling 2022: MCC announces addition of close to 200 MBBS seats

Use NowNEW DELHI: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has added 197 seats to the first round of the seat allocation process - round-1 UG counselling 2022 - after the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, the all-India entrance exam for medical colleges. The candidates can complete the "choice filling" for the newly-added seats for Round-1 of UG Counselling 2022 from October 18, 2022.
For the addition of these new seats, the UG counselling choice filling portal will be temporarily closed from 11 AM to 12 noon on October 18.
The seats are in 12 medical colleges, six of them government medical colleges in Jammu and Kashmir, three in Gujarat and one each in Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. These MBBS seats were not initially included in the round-one of NEET UG counselling as they received their approvals from the National Medical Commission (NMC) only on October 17.
Thereafter, the MCC decided to include these colleges in the seat matrix of round 1 of UG Counselling 2022.

The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Madhya Pradesh has commenced the registration for round one of National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET UG) counselling 2022 till October 20, 2022. Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) also started the online registrations for Karnataka NEET UG 2022 counselling on October 17 and eligible candidates can apply till October 19, 2022.
