NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has started the National Eligibility Common Entrance Test (NEET UG 2023) registration. Only aspirants who fulfil the eligibility criteria can fill the NEET application form at neet.nta.nic.in 2023. The last date of NEET registration 2023 is April 6.

According to the NEET eligibility criteria, candidates should be an Indian citizen with a minimum age of 17 years and a minimum educational qualification of 10+2 or equivalent. Candidates should also have passed physics, chemistry, biology/ biotechnology and English as main subjects in the qualifying examination.
Students will have to choose a qualifying examination code while filling NEET form 2023. There are seven categories under the NEET qualification codes. Codes are different based on the eligibility criteria for droppers, appearing candidates, candidates whose result is awaited, and others.

Aspirants will have to choose the qualification code based on their educational qualification. It is a mandatory field to be filled in NEET 2023 application. Once a candidate submits the NEET form 2023, they will not be allowed to edit the qualification code. NEET 2023 qualifying codes, as per information brochure, is given below.
Exam Code 1: Aspirants sitting for Class 12 or waiting for the results can select this code, though they must provide the relevant documents as proof of qualifying for the exam after the announcement. NEET-UG aspirants with a Class 12th result awaited can select Code 1, but must present all the relevant documents during the NEET counselling process.
Exam Code 2: A candidate can select Code 2 if they have completed 12 years of schooling under Higher/Secondary examinations or the Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE) with English, physics, chemistry, biology, or any other elective as one of the major subjects.
Exam Code 3: NEET qualifying exam code 3 can be selected by Class 12th students who must have studied physics, chemistry and biology/biotechnology as compulsory subject (as well as practical test in these subjects) in the Intermediate/pre-degree examination in science of an Indian University or Board or other recognised examining body along with English as compulsory subject.

Exam Code 4: A NEET applicant can choose Code 4 if they have completed the pre-professional or pre-medical examination, together with chemistry, biology, and English, after completing Class 12. The NTA, however, states that practical tests in each subject should be included in pre-professional or pre-medical examination qualifications.
Exam Code 5: NEET Code 5 is open to anyone completing the first year of a bachelor's degree from a recognised institution, including practical tests in physics, chemistry, biology, biotechnology.
Exam Code 6: Code 6 can be selected by students who have passed the BSc examination with two or more subjects: biology/biotechnology, physics, and chemistry.
Exam Code 7: Candidates who have passed anything equivalent to a Class 12 examination from a university or school and have completed two years of study in physics, biology, biotechnology, chemistry, and English and have also passed practical tests can opt for Code 7.
