“Today there are 23 IITs and 20 IIMs in the country. A new university has been established every week since 2014 and two new colleges have been established every day. As a result, there has been a substantial increase in the number of students pursuing higher education,” the defence minister said during the first alumni meet of Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University.
“To build a self-reliant India, it is very important to have self-confidence in the youth of the country. Confidence comes only when the youth of the country are knowledgeable as well as character. The new National Education Policy has been framed with this in mind,” he said.
