NIRF Ranking 2023: NLSIU Bengaluru, NLU Delhi remain top two among law colleges

NIRF Law Ranking 2023: Public law schools occupy the first five positions among top legal education institutions in the country.
NEW DELHI: National Law School of India University (NLSIU) Bengaluru continues to retain its position as the top law school in the country as per the latest National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF Ranking 2023) lists to top law schools. National Law Universty (NLU) Delhi is still in the second position. The NIRF 2023 rankings were announced on June 5.
NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad bounced back to the third position replacing Symbiosis Law School, a private institution which was among the top three in NIRF 2022.
The West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (WBNUJS) Kolkata has been placed in the fourth position followed by Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi

This year’s NIRF added one new domain which is agricultural and allied sectors to the existing seven domains that is engineering , medicine , dentistry, law, management , pharmacy and architecture. Also, this year every institution will be given a discipline-specific rank added to the overall ranking.
The colleges and universities were ranked as per predefined parameters which included research and professional practices, graduation outcomes, outreach and inclusivity and perception.
NIRF Ranking was launched in 2015. There was no separate ranking of law colleges in 2016 and 2017. It started in 2018 and NLSIU Bengaluru was ranked in the top position. From then, it continues to retain the top position.
