NIRF Ranking 2023 Medical Colleges: AIIMS Delhi at the top. Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences Chennai is the top dental college.

NEW DELHI: All India Institute of Medical Sciences Delhi (AIIMS Delhi) has once again topped the list of the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) medical college ranking 2023 released on Monday. The central government-run institute has been the best medical college in the country ever since the medical category was introduced in the NIRF India ranking in 2018. Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences, Chennai has grabbed the top position again in NIRF India ranking in dental college category.

AIIMS New Delhi has bagged sixth spot in the overall category of Indian rankings 2023 as well.
The Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh took the second spot while Christian Medical College Vellore (CMC Vellore) has been ranked third in this year's education ministry’s NIRF rankings under the medical category. Like AIIMS Delhi, PGIMER Chandigarh and CMC Vellore have also maintained their position in the NIRF ranking ever since 2018.

All the top four spots in medical category ranking have been grabbed by the same institutes which had claimed these positions last year. In NIRF ranking 2023 for medical category, Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER), Puducherry has replaced Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi from fifth position. JIPMER, Puducherry has also improved its position to number five from sixth spot in 2022.

Students who wish to take admission in NIRF top medical colleges at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels have to qualify for the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET). The national-level NEET UG 2023 was held in the first week of May and NEET UG 2023 counseling will start in July.
Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences, Chennai has grabbed the top position again in NIRF India ranking in dental college category. Like last year, Manipal College of Dental Science, Udupi and D Y Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune and Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences, New Delhi have maintained their positions at number second, third and fourth respectively in NIRF 2023 dental college ranking.
AB Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences, Karnataka has replaced King George's Medical University, Uttar Pradesh to claim the fifth spot in NIRF 2023 ranking of dental colleges.

Minister of State (MoS) Education Dr. Rajkumar Ranjan released the NIRF ranking 2023 where the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras emerged as the top institute in India. The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore and IIT Delhi were ranked second and third respectively in the overall NIRF ranking 2023. This is the eighth edition of NIRF India ranking and the first edition was released in April 2016. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has once again claimed the top position in National Institute of Ranking Framework (NIRF Ranking 2023) in the engineering college category in India.

Under the education ministry's ranking framework, higher education institutes across the country are assessed on various parameters including teaching, learning and resources, research and professional practices, graduation outcome outreach and inclusivity, and perception. The rankings have been released for a total of 12 categories – overall, universities, engineering, colleges, management, pharmacy, medical, architecture, dental, law and research institutions and agriculture and allied sector.
