NMMS scholarship application deadline extended till October 31. Last dates for INO level 1- November 15 and DNO level 2- November 30.
NEW DELHI: The last date to apply for the National Means cum Merit Scholarship scheme (NMMSS) for 2022-23 has been extended till October 31, 2022. The scholarship is Rs 12,000 per annum.
One lakh scholarships are granted to selected students from class 9 and their renewal in classes 10 to 12 for students studying in state government, government-aided and local schools every year. The ‘National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme’, scholarships are awarded to students belonging to economically weaker sections to encourage them to continue secondary education and decrease drop-out rates.
The NMMSS is boarded on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP), a one stop platform for scholarship schemes for students. The students are disbursed directly into the their bank accounts by an electronic transfer through Public Financial Management System (PFMS) following direct benefit transfer (DBT) mode. The NMMSS is fully sponsored by the Central government.

Eligibility
Students with parents whose annual income is not more than Rs 3,50,000 are eligible to avail the scholarship. The students must also have a minimum of 55 percent or an equivalent grade in their class 7 examinations for appearing in the selection test for award of scholarship (relaxable by 5 percent for SC and ST students).
The last date of Institute Nodal Officer (INO) level (L1) verification is on November 15, 2022 and of District Nodal Officer (DNO) level (L2) verification is November 30, 2022.
