NMMSS 2024-25: Registration begins at scholarships.gov.in; apply till August 31

NEW DELHI: Ministry of Education has opened the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) to submit applications for National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) from June 30 onwards. Candidates can apply for NMMSS 2024 through the official website of NSP at scholarship.gov.in.
The NSP portal is now open for one-time registration as well as application for fresh and renewal scholarships. The last date to apply for NMMSS 2024 on NSP portal is August 31.
The One-Time Registration (OTR) application has been launched on the NSP portal, offering a redesigned home page, mobile app, and updated web version. The application uses advanced technologies and has an enhanced user interface. OTR is a unique 14-digit number issued based on the Aadhaar/Aadhaar Enrolment ID, valid for the student's academic lifecycle. The last date for submitting fresh/renewal applications for NMMSS is August 31, 2024.
NMMSS 2024: How to apply
Candidates can follow the steps given below to apply for NMMSS 2024.
- Visit the official site ofNational Scholarship Scheme at scholarship.gov.in.
- Click on new registration link and enter the required details.
- Once registration is done, fill the application form.
- Upload the necessary documents (if required).
- Click on submit and download the page.
- Keep a hard copy of the same for further need.
The NMMSS verification process on the NSP portal consists of two levels: Level-1 verification by the Institute Nodal Officer (INO) and Level-2 verification by the District Nodal Officer (DNO). The deadline for INO (L1) verification is September 15, 2024, and for DNO (L2) verification is September 30, 2024.
NMMSS scheme
NMMSS is awarded to meritorious school students of Class 9 to 12 of economically weaker sections to reduce their dropout rate at Class 8 and encourage them to continue their education at the secondary level.
