NEW DELHI: National Testing Agency (NTA) notice over the chances of postponements or cancellations of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is circulating all over the media. The Press Information Bureau (PIB) on June 17, 2020, tweeted regarding the circulation of fake NTA advisory notice on WhatsApp, regarding the postponement of NEET 2020 to the third week of August. PIB advised people to be aware of these fake notices on postponements and only to rely on the authentic sources.

PIB claims that a Whatsapp forward is being circulated all over the nation of an alleged public notice by NTA DG regarding the NEET postponement. The tweet clearly stated that this is a fake notice as no official confirmation has been announced by NTA.

About NEET
As per recent notice by NTA, the exam for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, BVSc is going to be held as per the revised schedule on July 26, 2020. The entrance exam is conducted for granting admission to around 1,63,150 MBBS/BDS/AYUSH/BVSc&AH seats. Around 16.84 lakhs students have been registered for appearing for the medical entrance test. Being a single entrance examination after the merger of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), NEET is the most sought-after exam amongst aspirants.
