SWAYAM exam centres for nearly 92% BEd students in Tamil Nadu have been reallocated. Around 1,300 students have been assigned centres in nearby districts of neighbouring states.

After being allotted far-off cities, the SWAYAM exam centres for 14,700 BEd students out of 16,000 — nearly 91.9% — have been reallocated within their respective districts, DMK Rajya Sabha MP P Wilson said. The issue was resolved after Wilson urged the Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan in a letter to help in the reallocation.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) will be conducting the Study Webs of Active Learning for Young Aspiring Minds (SWAYAM) July semester exams from December 15 to 18. The SWAYAM admit cards for all registered students were issued on December 8 on the official website, exams.nta.nic.in/swayam.
Soon after the SWAYAM hall tickets were issued, several candidates in Tamil Nadu raised concerns regarding allocation of far-off exam centres in neighbouring states Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
While some students in Thanjavur were assigned exam centres in Kerala, which is about 388 km away from the district, and several others were allocated centres in Karnataka.

On December 9, after receiving representations from students and instructions from the Tamil Nadu chief minister MK Stalin, the DMK MP met with Dharmedra Pradhan to officially submit a letter requesting a change in exam centre for over a thousand students.
After reviewing the grievance, the NTA has reallocated exam centres for nearly 14,700 BEd students appearing in the SWAYAM July 2025 semester exams. Around 1,300 candidates have been assigned nearby districts in neighbouring states.
“Pursuant to the instructions of Hon'ble CM MK Stalin, the representation I submitted to change the SWAYAM examination centres for B.Ed students to Hon'ble Union Minister @dpradhanbjp has been accepted, and the Hon'ble Union Minister has issued orders,” P Wilson wrote on X.
“Consequently, out of 16,000 candidates, 14,700 have been reallocated to examination centres within their districts, and 1300 candidates have been assigned nearer to districts in neighbouring states,” he added.
