30 win Padma Awards 2025 for literature and education
Padma Awards 2025: One wins Padma Vibhushan, three Padma Bhushan, and 26 Padma Shri awards.

NEW DELHI : The Ministry of home affairs has announced the Padma Awards 2025, the highest civilian awards of the country. 30 have won awards under the ‘Literature and Education’ category including four under ‘Literature and Education-Journalism’.
President Droupadi Murmu has approved 139 Padma Awards including one duo case. Of this, seven will be presented Padma Vibhushan, 19 with Padma Bhushan and 113 Padma Shri Awards. MHA also informed that 23 of the awardees are women and the list also includes 10 persons from the category of foreigners, Non-Resident Indians (NRI), Person of Indian Origin (PIO), Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI), and 13 posthumous awardees.
The awards are given in three categories - Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri - in various disciplines such as art, social work, public affairs, science and engineering, trade and industry, medicine, literature and education, sports, civil service.
‘Padma Vibhushan’ is awarded for exceptional and distinguished service; ‘Padma Bhushan’ for distinguished service of high order and ‘Padma Shri’ for distinguished service in any field. The awards are announced on the occasion of Republic Day every year, and the President confers the awards at ceremonial functions held at Rashtrapati Bhawan usually around March or April.
