On Monday, the SC adjourned the hearing of a petition seeking cancellation of board exams 2021 to Thursday. The CBSE board was earlier expected to take a final call on the Class 12 board exams on June 1, 2021, after reviewing the COVID-19 situation.
Now, the government is expected to take a final decision on CBSE 12th exam 2021 after this meeting. This decision may be placed before the court in the next hearing on June 3, 2021.
On May 23, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh chaired a high-level meeting with all State and UT’s education ministers. In this meeting, the ministers discussed the upcoming Class 12 board examination and professional course entrance exams.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in the meeting chaired by Rajnath Singh, proposed to conduct the Class 12 board exam 2021 between July 15 and August 26, 2021. The CBSE board also proposed either to conduct the board exams for major subjects or conduct exams with some changes in exam pattern. However, the final decision in regard to Class 12 board exams is still awaited.
