States like Delhi, West Bengal, Maharashtra and Odisha had already made similar statements.

The Punjab Chief Minister’s office, through its official social media account, informed: “Chief Minister Amarinder Singh directs AG to work with counterparts in other opposition ruled states to file review petitions in the Supreme Court on NEET/JEE exams.”

Singh also said that Punjab will be setting up a committee to “assess the impact” of the National Education Policy 2020 in the state.

Meanwhile, the National Testing Agency (NTA) said that it has planned several steps to conduct the exams safely including increasing the number of examination centers, alternate seating plan, fewer candidates per room and staggered entry and exit. NTA also released the NEET admit cards today at 12 pm.

The Supreme Court, in the last week, dismissed a plea seeking postponement of the two exams amid spurt in the number of COVID-19 cases, saying precious years of students "cannot be wasted" and life has to go on.
