QS Graduate Employability Rankings 2022: IIT Delhi jumps to 131-140 band

NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi has jumped to 131-140 band from 151-160 band in QS Graduate Employability Rankings 2022 which was announced today, September 23.

V Ramgopal Rao, Director, IIT Delhi said: "IIT Delhi is happy to jump by 20 places in the QS Graduate Employability Rankings. We have been consistently improving our rankings in both domestic and international rankings in the last few years. We have taken various measures in the last few years and they are beginning to show their impact."

Apart from IIT Delhi, Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru and five other IITs are among twelve Indian institutions which have figured in the top 500 universities, as per a PTI report.

The five other IITs include IIT Bombay on the top, IIT Madras (151-60), IIT Kharagpur (201-50), IIT Kanpur (251-300) and IIT Roorkee (500), the PTI report said.

QS GER 2022

Delhi University is one of the three central universities in the 2022 rankings along with University of Mumbai and University of Calcutta, the PTI report said.

OP Jindal Global University, Sonepat and BITS Pilani are among the private universities that made their way to the QS Graduate Employability Rankings 2022.

QS considered the following factors to calculate the scores for Graduate Employability Rankings 2022 - employer reputation (30 percent), alumni outcomes (25 percent), partnerships with employers per faculty (25 percent), employer-student connections (10 percent) and graduate employment rate (10 percent).

According to the PTI report, the London based Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) said in a note on its website: "As the world recovers from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the importance of graduating with the skills and qualities required by modern employers has arguably never been greater.”

Earlier in June, the QS World University Rankings 2021 by Subject were announced wherein IIM Bangalore ranked 76 for its business and management studies subjects.
