QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026: IIM Kozhikode breaks into top 100 for management

IIM Kozhikode has jumped from 141st position last year to 78th this year in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026, breaking into the global top 100 colleges.

The QS World University Ranking by Subject 2026 has been announced, with the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIM Kozhikode) securing its spot on 78th position worldwide in the narrow subject category of business and management studies.

Notably, IIM Kozhikode has jumped from 141st last year to 78th this year in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026 , breaking into the global top 100 colleges.

Around 6,277 institutes globally were evaluated by the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026 with 1,912 institutions were ranked across 55 narrow subjects and five broad subject areas, totalling the number of entries to 21,000, according to an official press release.

QS World University Rankings 2026: IIM Kozhikode's performance

Sharing his thoughts on the achievement, Debashis Chatterjee , director of IIM Kozhikode, said: “Breaking into the global Top 100 in the QS World University Rankings by Subject is a proud moment for IIM Kozhikode. This achievement reflects the collective dedication of our faculty, students, alumni, and partners who continuously strive for excellence.”

“Our steady rise in global rankings underscores our commitment to impactful research, innovative pedagogy, and nurturing leaders who can thrive in an increasingly interconnected world. We will continue to build on this momentum to further strengthen our global academic and industry engagement,” Chatterjee added.

IIM Kozhikode's progress also reflects a consistent upward movemen rising from the 401-450 band in 2021 to the 151-200 band in 2024, the statement added. While, in 2025, the institute gained the rank of 141 for the first time and presently, it has been placed among the world’s top 100 institutions in its domain.
