NEW DELHI: The vice-chancellor of University of Delhi, Yogesh Singh, today lauded the decision of the Government of India to provide free food grains to 81.35 crore people and called it a “commendable step”. The DU VC was addressing the gathering after unfurling the national flag 'Tiranga' in the DU campus on the occasion of the 74th Republic Day 2023.
On the occasion, he also paid tribute to all the national heroes who sacrificed their lives for the country. Addressing the gathering, Singh said: “Article 47 of the Constitution of India provides that the government should give priority to works like raising the standard of living of the people, increasing the nutritional value of food and improving primary health.
