Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology hosts 34th convocation; 92.74% students placed

A total of 5,117 students received their degrees. The highest package offered was Rs 41.2 LPA, while the average package stood at Rs 5.7 LPA.
Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology hosted its 34th convocation ceremony on June 14, 2025. A total of 4,221 undergraduate students, 817 postgraduate students, and 79 Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) scholars received their degrees. Of these, 54 students were awarded with gold medals for their exemplary academic performances.
Over 380 recruiters visited the campus during the academic year 2024-25, with 92.74% of the students securing employment through the campus recruitment programme. Job offers were made in various industries like information technology, core engineering, finance, consulting, analytics and research.
The highest package at Sathyabama Institute was offered by Amazon, at Rs 41.2 lakh per annum (LPA). The average package amount was Rs 5.7 LPA. This year, more than 40% of the students have received job offers that are categorised as “Dream, Super Dream, or Elite offers”.

During the convocation ceremony, Atlee Kumar, Indian film director, screen writer and producer, was presented with an honorary doctorate (Honoris Causa), to reward his “keen sense of commercial filmmaking and grand storytelling”.
The ceremony at Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology was graced by the presence of founder chancellor Jeppiaar. Other attendees were: chancellor Mariazeena Johnson; president Marie Johnson; and vice presidents Maria Bernadette Arul Selvan, J Arul Selvan, and Maria Catherine Johnson.
Sathyabama Institute recently celebrated its Excellence Day on April 5. The institute offers popular courses such as Bachelor of Engineering/Bachelor of Technology (BE/BTech) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) in various subjects. Other popular courses include Master of Science (MSc), Bachelor of Commerce (BCom), and Master of Arts (MA).
