Anandam 2024: The event witnessed participation form Class 3 to 7 students expressing their ideas and emotions through music, dance, theatre, and visual art.
NEW DELHI: Shiv Nadar School, Chennai, recently concluded Anandam 2024, a celebration of creativity, self-expression, and the transformative power of the arts at the Anna Centenary Library. The theme for Anandam 2024 was truth unmasked, encouraged attendees to explore the relationship between truth and deception in today's digital world.
The event witnessed participation from students of Class 3 to 7 expressing their ideas and emotions through music, dance, theatre, and visual art. These creative expressions highlighted how art promotes empathy, enhances emotional intelligence, and strengthens critical thinking skills.
“Our theme this year pushed us to think deeply about the world we live in. Through their art and performances, our students reminded us of the importance of authenticity, empathy, and the collective responsibility we hold in promoting truth,” said Padmini Sambasivam, Principal, Shiv Nadar School, Chennai.
The event also featured a visual art exhibition, showcasing the creativity and dedication of both students and teachers. From detailed paintings to thought-provoking installations, each piece reflected the passion behind its creation.

Theatrical performances also highlighted the effects of fake news, misinformation, and the difficulty of distinguishing truth from falsehood in today’s world.
Anandam 2024: Theatrical performances to inspire audience
Pandemonium in Pipal Nagar: This play, adapted from Ruskin Bond’s The Boy Who Broke the Bank, humorously depicted the chaos caused by spreading rumours, emphasizing how words can impact communities.
Scandal in Fairyland: Inspired by Badal Sircar’s 1975 play, this production explored the widespread issue of misinformation and its social consequences. It questioned the media's role in shaping public opinion and urged the audience to think critically about the stories they hear.
Anandam 2024 was more than a celebration of the arts; it was a call to action. As Pablo Picasso once said, "Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life." Anandam 2024 reflected this idea, showing how art can inspire, innovate, and help us understand the world better.
