Shiv Nadar University, GRMI launch India’s first UG certification in risk management

Shiv Nadar University, Delhi-NCR has partnered with the Global Risk Management Institute (GRMI) for the launch of India’s first-ever undergraduate (UG) certification programme in risk management. The course aims to equip students with skills to navigate today’s risk landscape through hands-on training and regular interactions with seasoned professionals.
The certification programme is embedded into the four-year UG curriculum at the university. Upon completion of the course, students will get a certification for becoming “Certified Risk Professionals”, the official statement read.

The joint risk management course will equip students with subjects like business value chain and business risks, regulatory, ethical and compliance risks, enterprise risk management, and financial risk management. The programme is designed to give students the right knowledge as “managing risk is dynamic and central to organisational success”, it said.
Certification program in risk management
The curriculum for the UG certification programmes has been designed by current practitioners using real-world cases. It integrates theoretical concepts with practical and hands-on learning, expanding career opportunities.
Speaking on the new course, Ananya Mukherjee, vice chancellor at Shiv Nadar University, Delhi-NCR, said: “The nature and complexity of risks which impact our lives have increased tremendously. We need our graduates to understand and anticipate risks and have the professional capacity to mitigate and manage risks. This pioneering undergraduate program in risk management underlines our commitment to bridging academic excellence with industry needs. By collaborating with GRMI, we are empowering students to master critical risk-management competencies and emerge as confident, industry-ready professionals.”
Founder and dean of GRMI, Subhashis Nath, added that the aim of the undergraduate certificate course is to future-proof the youth of today to deal with the world of risk that cuts across technology, process, geo-political challenges and talent mismatch.
