SRM Subhiksha Health Card: The initiative aims to offer medical and healthcare services to individuals regardless of their income, geography, or background.
SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre (SRMMCHRC) has introduced the Subhiksha Health Card for 1 lakh individuals to access medical services. As the largest healthcare welfare initiative of 2025, the Subhiksha Health Card, in its first phase, aims to offer medical services to individuals regardless of their income, geography, or background.
The initiative was launched on the occasion of Sevai Thirunal, commemorating the birth anniversary of the founder chancellor, T R Paarivendhar.
Backed by a solid infrastructure of 400+ doctors, 1,600+ beds, 30+ specialties, and 3,000+ patients treated daily, SRM continues to be a beacon of trust in healthcare . The new Subhiksha initiative builds on this legacy to ensure equitable access to world-class medical services.
P Satyanarayanan, the president of SRM Groups said: “Healthcare is more than curing illness. Science may save lives, but compassion is what makes those lives meaningful. The Subhiksha Health Card is our way of ensuring that care is delivered with both excellence and empathy.”
The pro-vice chancellor of MHS said: “This card is not just a benefit, it’s a promise.A promise that no one will be left behind.”

SRM: Subhiksha Health Card for maternal care
A unique feature of the initiative is its focus on maternal care. Under the Tmt. Valliammai Women and Child Welfare Scheme, pregnant mothers will receive free maternity care and a Rs 20,000 support package.
R Venkataraman, medical Superintendent at SRMMCHRC emphasised and said: “From 24x7 emergency services to organ transplants and rural health camps, the Subhiksha Health Card is a declaration that healthcare is a right, not a privilege.”
This initiative launched under the theme ‘Health for All’ and is more than a welfare scheme, it’s a movement. The initiative aims to dismantle barriers, restore dignity, and build a future where compassion and care are universal.
