SSC reopens CGL 2026 application window till June 25; apply at ssc.gov.in

SSC has extended the CGL 2026 registration deadline following candidate requests, while fee payment and correction window dates have also been revised
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has reopened the application window for the SSC Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination 2026. This decision has been made after the commission received several requests from candidates requesting for an extension of the deadline. Till now, more than 28 lakh candidates had already registered for the exam.

As per the notice, the commission has reopened the online application portal for the CGL exam. Candidates can now submit their applications during the extended registration period, which will remain available for two days, from June 23, 2026 11 pm, to June 25, 2026, 11 pm.
The last date for payment of the application fee through the online mode has been extended to June 26, 2026, 11 pm. In addition, the application correction facility will be available from July 1 to July 3, 2026, allowing candidates to make necessary changes to their submitted forms until 11 pm on the final day of the correction window.

SSC CGL Registration 2026: Steps to apply
To register for the SSC CGL examination 2026, applicants can follow the steps given below
- Visit the official website of SSC at ssc.gov.in
- On the homepage, click on the ‘login’ or ‘Register tab’
- Complete the SSC CGL registration 2026 with personal details and those who are already registered candidates have to login with their details, including registration and password
- Fill out all the details, finish the Aadhaar verification with a live photo
- Upload the necessary documents, make the payment and then submit
- Download the confirmation page and take a printout for further reference
The official notice reads, "The relevant part in the Notice of Examination where the closing date was treated as a crucial date for ascertaining eligibility will now be as per the new closing date i.e. June 25, 2026."

SSC CGL 2026: Exam pattern
The SSC Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination 2026 is conducted in two stages: Tier 1 and Tier 2. Both stages are held in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. Tier 1 is qualifying in nature, while the final merit list is prepared primarily based on candidates' performance in Tier 2. Tier 1 consists of 100 objective-type questions carrying 200 marks and is conducted for a duration of 60 minutes.
