SSC new website to have live photo capturing feature; application module details

To apply for the upcoming recruitments, applicants will have to create a One Time Registration (OTR) on the new website.
NEW DELHI: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) launched a new website, which went live on February 17. Responding to candidates' queries concerning One Time Registration (OTR) for various recruitments, the commission has published a new notification. The new notification informed that notices for the various examinations conducted by the commission will henceforth be published on the new website only.
The commission informs that applications for the recruitments will only be accepted on the new website. To apply for the recruitments, applicants will have to create a One Time Registration (OTR) on the new website, as the previous OTR is no longer functioning.
The official notification read, “It is clarified that the OTR generated earlier by the candidates on the old website shall continue to remain valid for accessing various functionalities, if required, on the old website. That OTR, however, will not work for the new website and the candidates will have to generate a fresh one on the new website.”

SSC New Website: Live photo feature
The new website's application module will have a feature to capture candidates' live photos. Previously, applicants had to upload a pre-captured image. The new application module requires candidates to provide live images, which may be shot using a camera or an Android device. The following instructions have been provided by the commission for the live photo capture facility:
a) Find a place with good light and plain background.
b) Ensure the camera is at eye level before taking the photo.
c) Position yourself directly in front of the webcam and look straight ahead.
d) Candidates shouldn’t wear a cap, mask or glasses / spectacles while taking a live
photo.
