SVVV holds first Convocation, toppers awarded gold medal

NEW DELHI, JULY 2: As many as 55 students of PhD, M.Sc. MBA and M.Tech were awarded degrees during the first Convocation of Shri Vaishnav Vidyapeeth Vishwavidyalaya (SVVV). Apart from these, five Gold Medals were also awarded to toppers of various programs, including overall toppers amongst Boys as well as Girls.
In his welcome address, Chancellor of the University Purushottamdas Pasari congratulated the students and introduced the glorious history of Shri Vaishnav Trust. He emphasized on offering quality education as a commitment to society. Dr Upinder Dhar, Vice Chancellor, SVVV presented the details of the University achievements and activities that were organized by the students and for the students to facilitate the development of planning organizing and leadership skills amongst the students.
Dr Dhar said that all possible efforts are made to ensure that quality education is offered by regular updation of syllabi and curricula by the subject experts from Indian Institute of Science - Bangalore, IITs, IIMs, NITs and representatives of industry. He added that faculty development was the responsibility of the university. Thus, faculty members were encouraged to attend various programs organized by well-known institutions in the country and abroad. The university had sponsored the faculty to attend the conferences in Maldives, Thailand, United Kingdom and Romania in the last one year.
In her speech, Anandiben Patel, Governor, Madhya Pradesh congratulated the students for receiving the degrees and asked the youth to come forward to remove superstitions and abuses in the society. She also advised students to do research and study on the functionality of developmental and welfare schemes initiated by the government so that ground reality could be ascertained.
