Tamil Nadu opens financial incentive applications for UPSC 2025 candidates; Rs 50,000 for interview stage

Tamil Nadu candidates clearing UPSC prelims, mains, and final interview can receive Rs 7,500, Rs 25,000, and Rs 50,000 respectively under the Naan Mudhalvan programme.
The Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation, under its Naan Mudhalvan initiative, has opened applications for financial incentives for candidates from the state who qualified the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) civil services main exam 2025.
Under the Naan Mudhalvan programme, Tamil Nadu candidates participating in the UPSC civil services examination are provided financial incentives at various stages, including the preliminary examination, main examination, and final interview.
Eligible candidates can submit their applications for the Naan Mudhalvan programme through the official portal at naanmudhalvan.tn.gov.in. between November 13 and November 24, 2025. The scheme aims to provide direct financial assistance to candidates from Tamil Nadu to facilitate their participation in the UPSC civil services final interview stage.
Candidates who clear the preliminary examination are eligible for Rs 7,500 per 10 candidates. Those who clear the main examination receive Rs 25,000. Candidates qualifying for the final interview will receive Rs 50,000.

UPSC 2025 preliminary support
For the UPSC 2025 cycle, 659 Tamil Nadu candidates who cleared the preliminary exam were provided Rs 25,000 each to support their preparation for the main examination. Among these candidates, 155 cleared the main examination, including 87 who received training at the All India Civil Services Training Center.
The Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation has clarified that candidates who qualify for the main examination and are eligible for the final interview in 2025 will receive Rs 50,000 directly credited to their accounts. The financial support will be disbursed through the Naan Mudhalvan – Civil Services Interview Department.
