TGBIE bars junior colleges from entrance tests, fixes June 30 as first-phase deadline; 88-seat cap and mandatory compliance directions notified
The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (TGBIE) has released the admission schedule for Intermediate first-year enrolment for the academic session 2026-27, asking all government, aided, unaided, residential, minority and vocational junior colleges to begin the first phase of admissions from May 8.
As per the official board press release, institutions have been instructed to complete the first admission cycle by June 30, while classroom teaching for first-year students will begin from June 1.
The board has allowed colleges to grant provisional admissions using online SSC marksheets, but final confirmation will be made only after students submit original SSC pass certificates and transfer certificates.
In its communication, TGBIE also made it clear that no junior college can conduct any independent admission test or screening. Student intake must strictly be done on the basis of Grade Point Average(GPA), subject grades or qualifying marks, failing which “stringent action” may follow against the institution, the board said.
