NEW DELHI: Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) has announced the PhD admission 2024 schedule. As per the TISS PhD admission 2024 schedule, the registration process has already commenced from November 6. The TISS PhD admission 2024 registration deadline is December 4.
The TISS PhD programmes are available in full-time and part-time mode. Both the full-time and part-time PhD programme are offered only through regular mode.
TISS PhD Admission 2024: Interview dates
As per the official statement, the total number of seats available for all the PhD progammes is 103. The TISS PhD admission 2024 will be based on UGC NET scores and an online interview. As per the official schedule the Online Personal Interview (OPI) is scheduled to be conducted on December 12,13,14 and 16. The TISS PhD admission 2024 merit list will be out on December 24.
The dates for uploading documents, verification and fee payment is yet to be announced by the TISS officials. However, the orientation for PhD scholars is scheduled on January 14 and 15. As per the TISS PhD admission 2024 schedule, the coursework will begin from January 16.
Selection criteria for TISS PhD admission 2024
Candidates can have a look at the TISS PhD admission 2024 selection criteria below.
- For those students with category 2 and category 3 of UGC-NET 2024, 70% weightage is given to their NET score and 30% weightage is to their performance in the personal interview.
- For those students who are having a valid JRF (JRF prior to 2024 or JRF of 2024), the selection will be done based on the performance in personal interview only.
- In case, the valid JRF holders are not selected based on performance in personal interview, then the criteria applied to category 2 and category 3 of UGC-NET, 70% weightage for NET score and 30% weightage for personal interview shall be followed in such cases.
- The candidates are required to upload a research proposal or concept note (minimum 2000 words) on their proposed research. The questions, discussion in the personal interview will mostly focus on the proposed research topic, research interest.
