UGC NET 2026: NTA opens scribe facility for PwD, PwBD applicants

NTA will conduct the UGC NET 2026 June exams on June 22, 23, 24, 25, 29 and 30 in two shifts across the country

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has opened the online facility for the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET 2026) applicants who are eligible for availing scribe for the exam. UGC NET 202 applicants can submit the details for scribe on the official website, ugcnet.nta.nic.in, from today onwards till June 20 by 5 pm.

NTA will conduct the UGC NET 2026 June exams on June 22, 23, 24, 25, 29 and 30. UGC NET 2026 exams will be held in two shifts: morning shift from 9 am to 12 pm and evening shift from 3 pm to 6 pm.

Candidates appearing for the UGC NET 2026 can download the admit card from the official website using their application number, password and security pin.

For UGC NET 2026, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has expanded the subject list by introducing two new subjects, forestry and statistics.

NTA UGC NET 2026: How to submit scribe details?

Candidates appearing for the UGC NET exam can fill in the scribe details by following the steps given below.

  • Visit the official website and log in using the login details.
  • Click on 'Register Scribe Details' button available on home page.
  • The registration option will be visible only to PwD/PWBD candidates eligible to avail the scribe facility.
  • Choose the scribe option and submit the details as applicable.
  • After submitting, the details will be reflected in the 'View Application Form' link on the left-hand side of the candidate home page and also on the confirmation page

Additionally, the NTA has added four new exam cities for the June 2026 session: Namsai in Arunachal Pradesh, Kakching and Bishnupur in Manipur, and Cherrapunji in Meghalaya.

NTA conducts the UGC NET twice each year to determine eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professor positions, as well as admission to PhD programmes at universities and colleges across India.
