NTA extends UGC NET June 2026 registration deadline to May 23; apply at ugcnet.nta.nic.in

UGC NET 2026: The NTA will open the correction facility on May 25 for registered candidates to make changes to their UGC NET June session application forms.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has extended the UGC NET June 2026 registration deadline to May 23. Candidates can register for the UCG NET June 2026 session through the official website at ugcnet.nta.nic.in.

The NTA will also open the application correction window for UGC NET June 2026 registered candidates from May 25 to 27.
The UGC NET exam is conducted by the NTA for award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), appointment as Assistant Professor, admission to PhD programmes at universities and colleges across the country.
According to an official public notification, “The extension has been provided after we received various representations from candidates requesting more time to complete the registration process. Candidates can register at ugcnet.nta.nic.in.”
“NTA decided to extend the last date for submission of online application form for UGC-NET June 2026, enabling the aspiring candidate(s) to apply. We have also revised the fee payment and correction window schedule for candidates,” NTA said in the official notice.

UGC NET 2026: How to register
Candidates seeking admission to PhD programme, appointment as Assistant Professor, award of JRF can follow the steps given below to register for UGC NET June 2026.
- Go to the official website at ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
- Scroll down and click on the "Registration Window for UGC-NET June 2026 Examination."
- A new window will open.
- Fill required details and pay the requisite registration fee.
- After submitting, download the UGC NET June 2026 application form.
The NTA will also issue the UGC NET June 2026 city intimation slip 10 days prior to the examination.
