NEW DELHI: The UGC NET result 2024 will be declared for the June session exam soon. The National Testing Agency (NTA) will release the University Grants Commission - National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) 2024 results through the official website, ugcnet.nta.ac.in. Candidates will need their application number and date of birth to log in and download the UGC NET June 2024 scorecard.
The NTA UGC NET June 2024 exam was conducted from August 21 to September 5. The NTA conducted the UGC NET exam for 83 subjects in this session. The provisional answer key was issued on September 11 and the final answer key is expected to be out along with the UGC NET 2024 result.
Candidates who qualify UGC NET will receive two types of certificates - Certificate for Lectureship (LS) and Certificate for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF). The JRF certificate is valid for three years from the result date, while the LS certificate does not have a validity limit and remains effective indefinitely for the position of Assistant Professor.

Step 1: Distribution of Examinees Across Sessions
Candidates will be randomly assigned to two sessions to ensure an approximately equal number of participants in each. If there are additional days or fewer shifts, candidates will be allocated accordingly, maintaining fairness in the distribution process.
Step 2: Preparation of Results for Each Session
Examination results for each session will be compiled in two formats: (i) Raw scores and (ii) Percentile scores based on total raw scores. Percentiles will be calculated for each candidate within their respective session using the following formula:
Total Percentile (TP1) = 100 × (Number of candidates in the session with a raw score equal to or less than t1) / (Total number of candidates in the session)
Step 3: Compilation of NTA Scores and Final Results
The percentile scores from all sessions, as determined in the previous step, will be merged to form the NTA scores. These scores will be utilized for the final result compilation and further processing for allocation decisions.
The Jawaharlal Nehru University Students' Union (JNUSU) has been opposing UGC NET for PhD admissions. The students' body called the move 'anti-student' and found it detrimental to research citing irregularities, disregard to students coming from diverse disciplines, discrepancies in subjects and departments, and not catering to unique academic demands.
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has allowed universities to admit students to their PhD programmes based on UGC NET result 2024. PhD admissions will be based on the combined merit of UGC NET marks and the marks obtained in the interview/viva voce.

The NTA cancelled the UGC NET 2024 exam at four centres: Dr. Ghanshyam Singh College of Education in Varanasi, Shankara Group of Institutions in Jaipur, Amatyas Global IT Solution in Jamnagar, and Jainee College of Engineering and Technology in Dindigul, due to technical issues and flooding.
