NEW DELHI: The much-awaited UGC NET results 2024 for the June sessions will be declared by October 18, the National Testing Agency (NTA) announced today. Over 9 lakh candidates await results nearly two months after the testing agency conducted a re-exam. UGC NET Result 2024 Live Updates
Frustrated with the prolonged delay, Jai Adivasi Yuva Shakti (JAYS) planned a ‘NTA office gherao’ for today demanding UGC NET results. However, the UGC NET result date 2024 has been declared now.
The UGC NET result date 2024 was announced days after the final answer key was released by the NTA at the official website, ugcnet.nta.ac.in. Meanwhile, a screenshot of the UGC NET result link 2024 was also being circulated on social media, however, the testing agency has not yet declared the results on the official portal.
“It's been over 49 days since the UGC NET re-exam, and still no results! This delay is unacceptable. We need answers now!,” the JAYS tweeted on X stating that they will ‘gherao’ NTA office and sought the support of aspirants not placed in Delhi-NCR on social media. The protest under the banner ‘We want result today’ has been planned to take place at 1 pm today at the NTA office located at Okhla Industrial Estate, New Delhi.
UGC NET 2024 fiasco
A large section of the aspirants have been flooding social media platforms requesting the NTA and UGC chairman Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar to declare the UGC NET results 2024.
“The prolonged delay is particularly disheartening, as the online format of the examination was intended to streamline the process and deliver timely results. Instead, we are witnessing a significant lapse that undermines this objective. The absence of communication from all stakeholders, including politicians, activists, and the media, only adds to our frustration. Many news outlets continue to post vague updates about the results being "out soon," yet fail to address the core concerns of the students,” one of the aspirants said.
The UGC NET exam scheduled in June was cancelled after a paper leak and the re-exam was held from August 21 to September 5. Several students alleged that the provisional answer key had over 60 wrong answers in some papers and raised the issue of non-refundable objection fee. However, there was no clarification from the NTA.
