NEW DELHI: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has announced SWAYAM exam dates for July 2021 semesters offered by IGNOU, CEC, Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIM-B), National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR).

“The SWAYAM examination for the students, working professionals, lifelong learners, who have enrolled for the July 2021 semesters offered by the National Coordinators, has been scheduled for February 4 and February 5, 2022,” the UGC notice read.

The proctored examination will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) at designated examination centres throughout the country. Candidates will be able to register for the July semester exams on SWAYAM home page, swayam.gov.in.

UGC has also released the list of SWAYAM courses to be offered for January 2022 semester.

The UGC also said that the 'Study Webs of Active Learning for Young Aspiring Minds' (SWAYAM) platform is a Government of India's Massive Open Online Course (MOOCs) platform, set up with the objective to ensure that every student in our country has access to the best quality of higher education at an affordable cost.

It further asked the vice-chancellors of universities and college principals in the country to adopt SWAYAM courses for credit transfer and to pouralise these courses among students.

Rajnish Jain, Secretary and CVO of UGC said, “Since 2016, a total of 2,448 unique MOOCs have been developed for SWAYAM, 6,945 courses delivered with an enrolment of more than 2.47 crore students. Over 8.63 lakh students approximately have been certified to date.”

During the COVID-19 pandemic, universities and colleges continued to make optimum use of the SWAYAM platform for the benefit of the students/learners for uninterrupted teaching and learning, it added.
