Universities in Karnataka to hold CUET 2022 for UG admission

NEW DELHI: State universities in Karnataka have agreed to hold Common University Entrance Test (CUET) 2022 for admission to various undergraduate programmes such as BA, BSc, BCom etc., the University Grants Commission ( UGC) chairman M Jagadesh Kumar said on April 4.
“Today I had a meeting with Vice-Chancellors of 25 State Universities from Karnataka to discuss about Common University Entrance Test (CUET). The VCs have supported the introduction of CUET and have agreed to use CUET for admissions in BA, BSc, BCom and similar programmes,” Kumar said in a tweet.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has revised the CUET 2022 registration date and now will start the application process from April 6 for UG admissions 2022-23. Candidates will be able to apply for CUET or CUCET 2022 from April 6 to 5 pm of May 6.
According to the official notification of NTA, CUET 2022 exam will be conducted in the first and second week of July, 2022. The duration of CUCET exam for admission to central universities will be 195 minutes in slot 1 and 225 minutes in slot 2.

The CUET 2022 exam will be conducted in computer-based test (CBT) mode and will consist of multiple choice questions.
The CUCET entrance exam will be held in 13 languages English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

Candidates may apply online only at cuet.samarth.ac.in during the given time period. The exam fee is also required to be paid online through payment gateway, using debit/credit cards or internet banking or Paytm, said the official notice.
All central universities including Delhi University, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Jamia Millia Islamia, University of Allahabad will conduct admission to their UG programmes based on the marks secured by candidates in the CUET 2022 entrance exam. The state universities, private universities and deemed-to-be universities can also use the CUET 2022 scores for admission to their undergraduate and postgraduate programmes if they wish.
