University of Sheffield opens admissions for BEng (Hons) CSE, offers scholarships worth Rs 9.06 lakh

The University of Sheffield has opened registration for admission to its BEng (Hons) Computer Systems Engineering course for the September 2026 intake. Students can apply for the three-year undergraduate course through the official website at strath.ac.uk.

The curriculum of the BEng (Hons) CSE course at the University of Sheffield includes Artificial Intelligence (AI, robotics, Internet of Things (IoT), autonomous systems, and next-generation communications.

The CSE course has been designed to provide students with strong skills in designing and optimising both hardware and software, supported by applied, career-focused projects.

The course is open to international students . To be eligible, Class 12 students from any Indian examination board must secure at least 80%, including Mathematics and Science subjects.

University of Sheffield CSE course details

“Standard XII (India – CBSE board using a GPA scale) 8.0 including Maths and a Science subject. IELTS grade of 6.5, with a minimum of 6.0 in each component, or an equivalent acceptable qualification,” according to a press release.

The fee for the BEng (Hons) Computer Systems Engineering course for Indian students is approximately Rs 41.09 lakh (£32,100).

Notably, the university is also offering an International Undergraduate Scholarship for Indian students worth over Rs 9.60 lakh (£7,500) for their September 2026 entry.

The eligible for the UG scholarship includes 60% in each academic year and meeting other terms and conditions.

The scholarship will provide Rs 3,20,037 (£2,500) per year for each subsequent year of study (up to three years), subject to achieving 60% or above and successfully completing at least 120 credits in the previous academic year.

“Students may have the opportunity to add an optional placement year as part of their course, converting the three-year course to a four-year Degree with Placement Year,” the release reads.

The placement year will provide students with career guidance, skills and build a professional network.

“It also enables them to add valuable work experience to their CV, gain experience in applying for jobs and practicing interviews, and apply elements of their academic learning in a real workplace setting,” it added.

Enrolled students will design FPGA-based platforms, implement embedded systems, develop low-level firmware, and integrate AI into real hardware.

“Throughout the programme, performance, efficiency, reliability, and security are considered at system level across silicon, firmware, and application software,” it stated.
