UP Board 10th exam 2021 cancelled; Students will be promoted to next class

NEW DELHI: Deputy chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, Dinesh Sharma has announced that UP board 10th exam 2021 have been cancelled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Students will be promoted to the next class. The decision to cancel the UP Board class 10 exam 2021 was taken in a meeting with state chief minister, Yogi Adityanath.

The decision will provide relief to 29,94,312 students who registered for high school exams. These students will be promoted to Class 11 on the basis of guidelines and criteria to be developed by the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP). Earlier, Class 10 exams were postponed and now, these have been cancelled.

The minister informed that the Department of Secondary Education is continuously working in the interest of the students. Uttar Pradesh is the first state in the country to reduce the syllabus by 30% in the month of July last year in view of the interruption in reading due to the Corona pandemic.

The department is conducting online classes from the previous year's lockdown as well as through Doordarshan, Swayam Prabha Channel, e-Vidya Channel, Virtual School and e-Gyan Ganga YouTube Channel of the department. Along with this, more than 29 lakh Whatsapp groups of principals, teachers and students have been created.

Along with the UP board exam cancelled announcement, he highlighted that all board students of Classes 6, 7 and 8 in the state will be promoted to their next class. Students of Classes 9 and 11 will be promoted to the next class as per a student’s performance in the annual examination.

If a school has not conducted the annual examination, then students will get promoted to the next class based on the internal assessment done by the student throughout the year. If no internal assessment is available, then general promotion should be given to the student.
