This is the first time the UPSC has issued the CSE prelims provisional answer key right after three days of the exam.

The commission has introduced a reform to release provisional answer keys for UPSC CSE 2026 shortly after the exam, aiming to enhance transparency for candidates and maintain the integrity of the examination process.
The UPSC CSE prelim 2026 exam was conducted to fill more than 900 vacancies across various central government services and administrative posts.
Candidates can raise objections through the online question paper representation portal (QPRep) available on the official website at upsconline.nic.in, until 6 pm on May 31.

To check and download the UPSC CSE prelims 2026 answer key follow the steps given below:
- Visit the official website of UPSC at upsc.gov.in
- After this, log in using the details, including registration ID and password
- Click on the “online question paper representation portal (QPRep)” link
- Select “UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2026”
- Open the provisional answer key PDF for GS paper 1 or CSAT
UPSC CSE Answer Key 2026: How to raise objections
To raise objection against the provisional answer key, follow the steps mentioned below:
- Visit the UPSC portal at upsconline.nic.in/login
- Log in with the details, including registration ID and password
- Identify the question(s) candidate wish to challenge and indicate the answer they believe is correct
- Write a brief explanation supporting the position & upload the supporting references and then submit
The UPSC CSE 2026 selection process consists of three stages: the preliminary examination, the main examination, and the personality test or interview round. Candidates must qualify each stage to progress further in the recruitment process.
