Winter Vacation 2025 extended across several schools in Delhi, UP, Haryana due to cold weather conditions

Schools in the North region have extended their winter vacation in schools. Delhi government has declared holidays for all schools till January 15.
NEW DELHI : Several schools in Delhi NCR region, UP, Himachal Pradesh, and others have extended winter vacation in schools this year due to the intense cold wave. In Ghaziabad, the district inspector ordered that all schools up to Class 8 will remain closed from January 6 to January 11, 2025.
Many Uttar Pradesh schools remain closed till January 15, 2025. As per the reports, the district magistrate Shailendra Kumar Singh has ordered that schools for Classes 1 to 8 in Mathura and Agra will remain shut until January 14, 2025
Schools in Lucknow have mandated online classes for students in Classes 9 to 12 as per DM’s order. In Jharkhand, Shailendra Kumar Singh has ordered that schools for Classes 1 to 8 in Agra and Mathura will remain shut until January 14, 2025.
Due to changing weather conditions, the reopening of schools might vary. The measures are being taken to ensure the safety of students during harsh winter conditions.
Winter Vacation 2025 extended in many states
The Directorate of Education Delhi announced winter break for all government schools in the national capital till January 15, 2025. The directorate also announced remedial classes for those studying in Classes 9 to 12 for ten days during the Delhi school winter vacation. Schools in Noida will also remain shut until further notice
The government of Haryana has ordered the winter vacation in Haryana schools from January 1 to January 15, 2025, via social media. “The Haryana Education Department has issued orders that all schools in the state will have winter vacations from January 1 to January 15. The schools will reopen on January 16, 2025,” the department of public relations posted on X.
The Jammu and Kashmir government announced winter vacation for schools in the valley and winter zone areas of the Jammu division from December 10 to February 28, 2025. The minister for school education Sakina Masood Itoo announced the decision on X (formerly Twitter) by sharing an order through the school education department.
