NEW DELHI: Around 2.4 lakh private school students from nursery to Class 12 have applied for admission in Delhi government schools for the academic session 2021-22, according to the Times of India report.
The report says, so far 1,58,484 students took admission to government schools. This data is called non-plan admission, which is for students who had been studying in private schools. “2,36,522 applications were received for nursery to Class 12,” the report said. Of which, the admissions for Class 9 and Class 11 are larger in number.
The rapid increase in the number of admissions to government schools is attributed to financial losses due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the report added.
