Subscribe NowA massive protest by the Bihar Police aspirants turned violent after mismanagement of transportation arrangements at Patliputra Railway Station. Several students missed the Bihar police constable exam due to mismanagement and the continuous delay of trains.
Reportedly, thousands of students vandalised a special train, pelted stones and damaged railway property, and started to protest at the railway station. In response, police used tear gas, fired warning shots, and carried out a baton charge to bring the situation under control and disperse the crowd.
As per the Indian Express report, the government had arranged special trains for police aspirants. A female candidate said several people failed to board trains due to overcrowding, after which they prevented the train from moving forward, leading to chaos at the railway station.
IG Jitendra Rana and several railway police personnel sustained minor injuries in the stone pelting. Personnel from the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Government Railway Police (GRP), and local police subsequently cleared the railway tracks, helping restore normal train services.
