NEW DELHI: The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has announced that the Integrated 70th Combined Competitive Examination (BPSC CCE) prelims 2024 tentative examination date. As per the official notification, the BPSC CCE 70th prelims 2024 exam is expected to be held on November 17, 2024.

The detailed notification for the BPSC 70th CCE prelims 2024 examination will be published soon, the commission said. Candidates will be able to apply for the BPSC 70th CCE prelims exam through the official website, bpsc.bih.nic.in.

The BPSC CCE prelims notification will have important details such as the total number of vacancies, eligibility criteria, registration dates among others. The commission further said that the tentative date for the BPSC 70th CCE prelims 2024 examination as per the calendar is September 30 but the notification could not be published due to unavoidable reasons.

The BPSC 69th CCE mains result 2024 was announced on August 31. A total of 3,444 candidates appeared for the Mains examination, of whom 1,005 have qualified.

BPSC CCE 70th Recruitment 2024: Selection process

The 70th BPSC CCE selection process involves the following stages:

  1. Preliminary Examination: The objective is to screen candidates for the Main Examination. It is an objective-type exam with multiple-choice questions, carrying a total of 150 marks. The subjects covered include General Studies, such as General Knowledge, Current Affairs, History, Geography, and General Science. The duration of the exam is 2 hours, and there is no negative marking. The preliminary exam is qualifying in nature, and marks obtained in this stage are not considered in the final merit list.

  2. Main Examination: The objective is to evaluate the in-depth knowledge and understanding of candidates on various subjects. It is a descriptive (written) examination consisting of several papers: General Hindi (100 marks, qualifying paper), General Studies Paper 1 (300 marks), General Studies Paper 2 (300 marks), and an Optional Subject Paper (300 marks), which candidates can choose from a list provided by BPSC. The duration for each paper is 3 hours. The marks obtained in the General Hindi paper are qualifying in nature, meaning they are not added to the final merit score. However, candidates must score a minimum of 30% to qualify. The marks from the General Studies and Optional Subject papers are considered for the final merit list.

  3. Interview: The objective is to assess the personality, communication skills, and suitability of the candidates for a career in public service. The interview carries a total of 120 marks.

  4. Final Merit List: The final merit list is prepared based on the combined scores of the Main Examination (excluding the qualifying Hindi paper) and the Interview. Candidates are selected for various posts based on their rank in the merit list and the number of vacancies available.
