Ramesh Pokhriyal launches Prabandh portal for Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan
NEW DELHI: The education minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ on Friday launched Prabandh, a “progressive system” for “increasing transparency and accuracy” of Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) scheme, a central government scheme for school education.
Features of Prabandh include online submissions of annual plans and budgets at district and state level, tracking of funds and their release to the states, the minister said.
The minister, through his official social media account, said: "Prabandh is a significant step towards leveraging technology to enhance efficiency and manage the implementation of the centrally sponsored integrated scheme for school education, Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan."
The minister also held discussions on “bridging social and gender gaps” and “promoting vocationalisation” through the SSA scheme.
Pokhriyal said on social media that he also discussed “enhancing learning outcomes” and “ensuring equity and inclusion “ at all levels in school education through SSA.
Pokhriyal, through his official social media account, said: “I held a high-level review meeting with the senior officials of the Ministry of Education on Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan (Integrated Scheme for School Education) today. The following topics were discussed: Provisions for quality education and enhanced learning outcomes of students, bridging social and gender gaps in school education, ensuring equity and inclusion at all levels of school education, promoting vocationalisation of education.”
The minister has been reviewing central education bodies over the past few. On Monday, the minister had suggested increasing transparency of the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) by bringing examination reforms.
The minister, in a similar review meeting on Tuesday, had also suggested that the National Bal Bhavan organize national awards to encourage children.
