CAT exam 2024 concludes; what’s next for MBA aspirants?

NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta conducted the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2024 today, November 24. The CAT exam 2024 was held in three slots across various examination centres in 175 cities in India. Around 3.29 lakh candidates registered for the MBA entrance exam this year. CAT 2024 Live Updates

The duration of the IIM CAT 2024 exam was 120 minutes for regular examinees and 160 minutes for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates. Students were allotted 40 minutes to answer each section (53 minutes and 20 seconds for PwD). CAT 2024 question paper consisted of three sections on verbal ability and reading comprehension, data interpretation and logical reasoning, and quantitative ability.

Now, IIM Calcutta will release the CAT 2024 answer key on the official website, iimcat.ac.in. With the help of the provisional answer key, students will be able to get a rough idea of their expected score by matching their responses with the official answer key. The institute will invite objections from candidates on the provisional answer key and the final answer key will be prepared after the verification of challenges submitted by the candidates.

Based on the CAT 2024 final answer key, IIM Calcutta will announce the CAT 2024 results which are expected to be declared in the second week of January 25.

CAT 2024 scores will be used for admission to IIMs and participating B-schools. Most management institutes have additional rounds for the selection of candidates through the exam. Students can prepare for these rounds including the Written Ability Test (WAT), Personal Interview (PI), and Group Discussions (GD) while awaiting the exam results.
