CAT Exam 2024: Notification releases soon; how many questions to be asked this year

Use NowNEW DELHI- CAT 2024 will be held on November 24. This year, IIM Calcutta is likely to conduct the CAT exam 2024. The notification of CAT 2024 will be released this month, on July 30 or 31. The notification will have CAT exam dates, CAT registration 2024 start date, CAT registration last date, CAT exam fees and other details.

Along with the CAT notification, the detailed CAT exam pattern including the section-wise and total number of questions to be asked this year in CAT 2024 will also be out. No major changes have been made in the CAT exam pattern in the past few years and the same pattern is likely to be followed this year as well. However, the CAT exam is best known for throwing last-minute surprises so candidates are suggested to be prepared for the same.
The CAT 2024 question paper is likely to have a total of 66 questions from three sections namely- VARC, DILR, and QA for a total of 198 marks. The CAT exam duration is 2 hours with a sectional timing of 40 minutes each. While attempting the CAT entrance test candidates cannot attempt two sections at one time. Switching between different sections of the CAT exam is not allowed. However, candidates can switch between questions for a given CAT exam section.
CAT 2024 Exam Pattern and Section-Wise Marks Distribution
The IIM CAT exam 2024 has three sections: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Quantitative Aptitude (QA). The details for each section are provided in the table below.
