The PIL seeking cancellation of exams was filed a few weeks back, but the matter was delayed due to vacation and non-availability of the Chief Justice of India (CJI), as per a report by Times Now News. After the requests from senior lawyers, the CJI has set up three benches to attend to the applications filed under urgency, the report added.
The case will be heard today at 10:30 am and CBSE Class 12 exam 2021 decision is expected to be taken after the hearing.

Last year too, the SC heard a PIL seeking cancellation of board exams and ordered the CBSE to cancel the exams. The result was prepared on the basis of papers attempted in February and March 2020. But this year, as the board did not conduct the theory paper, the situation is not the same. Lakhs of students are waiting for a final verdict on CBSE 12th exam 2021.
Earlier, the board attended a high-level meeting with a group of ministers and proposed two options for conducting the exams. Either to conduct exams for major subjects or to hold exams with some changes in pattern.
After the meeting, some state boards have announced the Class 12 board exam dates and some are about to make an announcement.
